I’m thrilled to share an overview of my homelab project. My setup is centered around an Unraid server, where I run various applications using Docker containers. This approach allows for efficient management and scaling of the services I run. Here’s a breakdown of the projects I’m currently working on:

  1. AdGuard Home: This is a network-wide software designed to block ads and tracking, enhancing privacy across all home devices. It operates smoothly on Docker, covering multiple devices without needing client-side configurations. For guidance, there are many resources like Reddit and Medium articles explaining installation steps and setup nuances.
  2. Audiobookshelf: This project focuses on hosting and streaming audiobooks and podcasts. It’s supported by a community on the Unraid forums, where users share tips for setup and management. Audiobookshelf allows me to access my audiobook library seamlessly from anywhere.
  3. Glances: I use this tool for monitoring system stats. It provides real-time data and integrates with other home automation systems, like Home Assistant. Running it in Docker on Unraid ensures minimal resource consumption while offering comprehensive system insights.
  4. Additional Services: Here are other applications I run:
    • Homepage: A customizable homepage to navigate my different services easily.
    • Jelu & Lubelogger: Tools for tracking reading activities and lubricating schedules.
    • Mealie: A recipe manager that simplifies meal planning and grocery management.
    • Obsidian-Livesync: For syncing my notes securely.
    • Paperless-NGX: Helps in digitizing and organizing my paperwork.
    • Plex Media Server: Streams media content throughout the home, supported by Tautulli for server usage tracking.
    • Speedtest-Tracker: Monitors my internet speed to ensure optimal performance.
    • Cloudflare Tunnels: Provides secure access to applications from anywhere.
    • Uptime Kuma: Monitors my services and alerts me on any downtime.
    • Vaultwarden: A free, self-hosted password manager alternative.

Using Docker on an Unraid server for these applications offers flexibility and robustness, ensuring each application is easily manageable and independently scalable. As technology evolves, so will my homelab, adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
